Roosevelt elk have lived in the forests and meadows of the northern Oregon coast for a long time. But in the past 10 to 15 years, the herds have been growing steadily in the small towns of Clatsop County. Now, more than 500 elk are grazing through the towns, destroying property, chasing people and trampling dogs. So how can we coexist? Residents, biologists and community leaders look for answers.
